DELEGATE WHAT YOU HATE

One day on Instagram Stories, I went on a tangent about how effective my laundry routine was. How I sort, how I wash almost everything on the cold cycle, how I fold to increase the likelihood of not pulling clean clothes out of the hamper for the next week. The advice was good.

But the truth was I hate doing laundry. Even though I’m good at it—I hate it.

My big-sister-in-my-head, Myleik, messaged me something that I’ll never forget. She simply asked, “Why don’t you just get your laundry done? It’ll save you so much time and it’s criminally cheap. Plus, with three small children it’ll give you a break.”

Almost immediately I asked her who she used and I booked the service that same day. She was right. I could absolutely use the break and it was criminally cheap. Honestly, for as much as I hate doing laundry, I was expecting the service to be a couple hundred dollars a week. (Which I would’ve gladly paid.) Turns out, for my family of five, it costs me $40 a week for about four loads of laundry. Even in our hectic weeks when we have bigger loads, it still doesn’t come up to more than $50.

Listen, I would eat PB&J for dinner every night of the week to save that $200 to avoid doing laundry.
